Sick dog inside new stolen truck

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

When thieves stole a truck from a Fondren restaurant they not only got away with a brand new vehicle but the sick dog lying on the back seat.

Bill Buffington said he left his 2011 green Ford F-250 King Ranch running with the doors locked while grabbing a late lunch at Walker's Drive Inn on State Street Tuesday afternoon.

Between 1:30 and 2 o'clock when Buffington went to the parking lot he discovered Simpson, his tan and white hound beagle mix, missing along with his truck.

The 14 year old dog suffers kidney failure but was found around nine o'clock Tuesday evening by a passerby on State Street.

The truck has a Duck's Unlimited tag number M28-8DU.

"The dog requires two IV's a day. He's in kidney failure, very sick, very sick dog. He's like a son to me. He goes everywhere with me. He goes to the office, very sick dog," said Buffington.
