Florence family still recovering from flooding

FLORENCE, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Florence family of ten is trying to recover weeks after Tropical Storm Lee flooded their trailer. Daphne Tait, has 8 children which has compounded their loss.

"We lost everything," says Tait who had to be rescued from her sinking home. The trailer is a complete loss, with mold now covering the walls.

The family is asking for donations, including clothes and furniture. Anyone wanting to donate can call 601-500-1497.

    One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.
    Savannah Nash celebrated her 16th birthday last week. She died Thursday when her car slammed into a semi while she was texting during her first time driving by herself.
