Warmer temperatures, rain chances return

Posted: Updated:

Our weather will remain rather benign through tomorrow. Lows will drop into the 50s again tonight with some high clouds around. Temperatures will warm into the middle and upper 80s on Sunday afternoon. There will be a few more clouds around.

An area of low pressure stalled to our north will help send a developing cold front our way for the work week. Showers and storms will break out along the front late Sunday across extreme northwest Mississippi. I expect our area will remain dry on Sunday.

The front will track into central Mississippi by Monday. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are expected Monday with the front in the area. It is very uncertain where the cold front will end up. It may stall over our area or move back north. Slight rain chances will continue every day through next weekend. We'll be able to fine tune to the forecast a little better each day as we determine the position of the front.

The exact location of the front will have an impact on who sees rain and who just has some clouds. This will also impact our temperatures. For now, I will keep our highs in at least the middle 80s with some upper 80s possible. Lows will remain in the 60s through the work week.
