JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police continue their investigation into a Sunday night double homicide. It happened at 3881 Meadow lane in South Jackson, west of Terry road, last night.
Today we learned more about the victims of this gruesome crime. According to police, the homeowner and a friend may have surprised someone breaking in.
Police were initially called to the home on a burglary in progress. Officers were able to respond in about six minutes. Inside they found two black males shot multiple times.
Hinds county Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart identified them as 32-year-old Terrance James. He owned the home and had been shot 3 times in the face, and once in the side. The second victim was 27-year-old Brandon Williams. He was shot once in the chest and was visiting the home at the time of the shooting. Neighbors say they saw a silver ford focus at the home, just before the murders.
"Were pretty much treating this as a house burglary. Were still investigating. We don't have any motive, we don't have any suspects in custody at this time, but we do have witnesses that's helping us out," said JPD Spokesperson Colendula Green.
A female who neighbors say was Terrance James' wife was also home, but unhurt. Police are not releasing any information on the suspects at this time.
Anyone with information on this murder is asked to call Jackson police at 601-960-1234 or call Crime Stoppers at 355-8477.
