Dense Fog Early, Then Sunshine

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Early dense fog prompted an advisory for the delta and north central Mississippi until 8am this morning. A slow clearing sky line will allow the sunshine to warm us up quickly by the afternoon hours into the upper 80s. Winds will primarily come from the north east, but we'll still climb above the normal temps for this time of the year. A stray storms near the Wilkinson, Adams, Pike, Amite and Walthall county areas will pass away by the mid morning hours.

Tonight we'll be clear and much cooler, lows will dip into the mid to upper 50s. Winds will stay light with clear skies, making for a quick cool down overnight. For the rest of the work week we'll stay clear during the day AND the evening/overnight hours.

Tomorrow we'll reach for another warmer than usual day, followed by a dramatic changeover of air masses.  The weekend will still stay sunny, but not quite as warm. Temps are expected to stay in the 70s instead of the upper 80s. Strong flow of northern and drier air will contribute to this change. However, we'll still stay clear and sunny.

The pollen count continues to be a sore spot in our forecast, despite the delightful sunny forecast. Anticipate the Pollen Count to stay at elevated levels.
