RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Rankin County authorities still don't have a suspect or murder weapon in Tuesday's murder. It happened at 1436 star road, just south of Brandon.

Thirty-six-year-old Leslie Olivia Sheppard Doame was found in her trailer Tuesday. She worked as a clerk, at night, for Triple A Transportation in Richland. She slept through the day.

Her boss, Terminal Manager Chris Renfroe, said she was a model employee, who was always smiling and was probably the most popular employee in the business.

Sheriff Ronnie Pennington does not have definite suspect, but he believes she was surprised by a burglar and shot in the back side of the head.

"I think that whoever went into the home was surprised that she was there, and it resulted in her death. I believe that" said Sheriff Ronnie Pennington. "We are following up leads."

Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest was personally on the crime scene Tuesday and is very optimistic it is a case that will soon be solved.

"The sheriff's department is working diligently to try make heads or tails about what went on out there" said Guest. "They have a pretty good idea now, ah they are at this point trying to develop suspects in the case."
