MARL supporters hold Fur Ball

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

They have placed more than 48,000 animals in adoptive homes since they opened their doors in 1969 in Jackson.

Thursday night, supporters of the Mississippi Animal Rescue League hoped to raise money to help care for and place unwanted pets in good homes.

The annual Fur Ball was held at Renaissance in Ridgeland.

This year's Fur Ball was dedicated in memory of Meriam Weems a well-known local artist and supporter of MARL.
