HOLMES COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Holmes County emergency crews have responded to a train-truck collision. It happened at Highway 49E near Highway 12 around 9:00 Monday morning.
The accident turned the pick-up truck upside down and the trailer it was towing ended up on the other side of the tracks.
According to Holmes County Deputy Capt. Sam Chambers, the driver, Paul Beckwith of Belzoni, was up and walking around when he arrived.
Beckwith and his passenger, Clark Hester of Louise, both suffered only minor injuries.
The truck was hauling farm equipment.
Amtrak's "City of New Orleans" passed through the area without incident later in the morning and was not involved in the collision.
