JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson man is dead after being shot several times while in his car on Ludlow Avenue, Wednesday morning. At approximately 12:39 a.m., Jackson Police discovered Keith Lamon Holmes, 33, slumped in the driver seat of a Oldsmobile in the 2200 block of Ludlow Ave.

JPD units responded to the area in reference to a person being shot, according to JPD spokesperson Colendula Green. A preliminary investigation revealed Holmes was shot multiple times and the coroner pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police have not said if they have any suspects in the case or a motive. Detectives are following up on this investigation and law enforcement is asking for the public's assistance. If anyone has information you are asked to contact Jackson Police at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS
