JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Storybook characters are jumping off of the pages and into the Mississippi Children's Museum. Characters like Cinderella's evil step-sisters and Prince Charming are just a few of the characters coming to life at the Children's Museum. You're invited to meet the characters on Saturday night.

The museum is hosting a family fun fundraiser called "Once Upon a Fall Festival...There was a Storybook Ball." The festival is the finale of a week-long of events focusing in children's literacy.

Susan Garrard, the Executive Director for the Mississippi Children's Museum says, "we think here at the museum, the more imaginative we are and the more interesting we make reading for children they'll want to know the end of the story and read it for themselves."

The festival takes place Saturday night from 6:30PM to 9:30PM night at the Mississippi Children's Museum. Prices range from $35 to $150 dollars. All proceeds go towards the museum's literacy initiatives.
