A Jackson man has been convicted for shooting a man in the parking lot of Walmart in south Jackson earlier this year.
Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith says a jury found Thomas Calvin Wansley II, 23, guilty of aggravated assault.
On February 21, Wansley exchanged words with the victim, Jeremiah Wilson, in the parking lot of Walmart on Highway 18.
The encounter was caught on the store security cameras.
Wansley pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the back four times as he walked away.
Judge Jeff Weill set Wansley's sentencing for November 2.
