Services set for chef and restaurant owner Craig Noone
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Jackson chef and restaurant owner has died.
Craig Noone, 32, was killed in a car crash around 1:00 Friday morning near Capitol and West Streets.
Noone was the executive chef and co-owner of downtown Jackson's Parlor Market restaurant on Capitol Street.
According to witnesses, Noone was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on Capitol Street at a high rate of speed and ran a red light near the Governor's mansion. Police say he slammed into a Ford Taurus traveling on north West Street. Noone's Tahoe crashed into a light pole and several parking meters then flipped over.
Friends are remembering Noone as an excellent chef and generous, caring person.
"He quickly demonstrated to those of us in Jackson and anyone who came to his Restaurant Parlor Market that he knew what he was doing. Passionate about it, he surrounded himself with amazing people and he's going to be missed," said friend P.J. Lee.
Others involved in the accident were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Arrangements have been set for Craig Noone visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home and the funeral is 10 a.m. Monday at Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
