BYRAM, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hundreds of friends and loved ones celebrated the life of a local chef who died after a fatal car wreck last Friday.

The funeral service for "Parlor Market" chef Craig Noone started at 10 A.M. The parking lot of the Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram was packed with loved ones' and friends who came to pay their respects to Noone.

Noone was known as a culinary mastermind who helped attract people to downtown Jackson with his gourmet southern cuisine.

Paul Jefcoat, one of Noone's childhood friends says Noone wasn't just an amazing cook, but he was also a great friend.

"When you talked to Craig you know he does make you feel like the only person in the room, he is interested in everything you have to say, always asking about your family wanting to know everything going on in your life. He meant a lot to me he was a fierce competitor and he brought out the best in people," says Jefcoat.

Noone opened "Parlor Market" up in 2010.
