A Jackson Municipal Court judge denied bond for 26-year-old Fredrick Champion. Champion was charged with two counts of capital murder in a south Jackson double homicide on September 25th.
Police say 16-year-old Zachary Smith was Champion's accomplice in the crime. Smith appeared in court last week.
The murders took place inside of a home at 3881 Meadow Lane. 27-year-old Brandon Williams was shot in the chest and 32-year-old Terrance James was shot in the face and side.
James' wife was home at the time, but she was not injured.
A Hinds County judge will help determine Champion and Smith's fate if the two are convicted of the murders.
Jackson police officer Colendula Green said, "we pretty much investigate it, once it's completed it'll be left up to the judge and the jury to decide that outcome."
It's uncertain what sort of relationship Champion and Smith may have had with their victims.
