Man jailed for food stamps fraud

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson man is headed to prison for food stamp fraud.

49-year-old Louis Brooks was sentenced to five years behind bars after pleading guilty to lying on an application for food stamps.

Brooks was also ordered to pay just over $2900 in restitution.

He was indicted on six counts in May. Brooks pleaded guilty to one count in July.
