JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Chefs from around the metro area honored Jackson restaurateur Craig Noone Monday night.

Music echoed throughout the King Edward Hotel where chefs gathered for the Steel Chef Mississippi Competition.

Instead, a culinary demonstration was held to remember the Parlor Market Street chef.

Noone was scheduled to compete but died Friday after a car wreck in downtown Jackson.

Five local chefs held demonstrations during the fundraiser for the Community Place Nursing Home's move from Jackson to Pearl.

"It's a non-profit nursing home, and we're raising funds for our relocation and we have about 25 different restaurants that are gonna be providing food. Then we also have Mike Roemhild of Table 100 he's the local chef for the exhibition," said Steel Chef Mississippi Competition chairman Prentiss Morris.

A culinary scholarship is being established in Noone's honor.
