Foggy & Warm For Now

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A great deal of moisture caused some visibility concerns in the early morning commute hours for central Mississippi. However the 'official' dense fog advisories were issued for north Mississippi, Arkansas and north/east Louisiana. High pressure continues to be in control of our weather pattern for the early part of this work week. Expect sunshine to continue until Thursday.

By Thursday everything changes dramatically with a potent cold front pushing through. We'll be in the look out for strong storms with some possible turning severe. Thursday afternoon's 50% chance of rain will be followed up with Friday morning's 60% chance of early morning showers. These storms are likely to be severe with the fast moving fronts and the moist and warm air that will already be in place to 'feed' the storms.

Saturday and Sunday is looking much cooler, highs will be in the 60s and low 70s. Fortunately, the morning lows are still manageable, staying in the 40s.
