Bond hearing delayed for man who fired at Ridgeland Police

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Corey Lamon Laird will remain in jail without bond. 

A Ridgeland Judge postponed his bond Tuesday hearing till next Tuesday. 

His preliminary hearing will also take place at that time. 

Ridgeland prosecutors have charged him with two counts of assault on a police officer. 

They will now add a charge of felony fleeing. 

Ridgeland Police say Laird exchanged gunfire with officers and rammed a police cruiser early Saturday morning at the Oakbrook apartments on Old Canton Road.
