Regions drops new monthly debit-card fee

If you have an account with Regions bank, you won't have to pay for a debit card after all.

Earlier this month, Regions joined a host of other national banks in charging a monthly fee for debit-card use. But customers complained, and now Regions says it will eliminate the $4 monthly fee. In fact, the bank says it will refund any monthly debit-card fees already incurred.

Regions is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and has about 15 percent of the Mississippi banking market.
