JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Jackson Police responded to the scene of a shooting involving two children Tuesday night.
The shooting happened at 217 Frederica Avenue, which is off West Capitol Street.
Sources tell WLBT News that a 2 year old and 4 year old were injured.
Their identities have not been released.
Jackson Police Spokeswoman Colendula Green says a preliminary investigation reveals it was an accident.
"They were conscious when they left, so we are trying to determine their status as well," Officer Green said. "But they have been transported to local hospitals."
