Governor-Elect Phil Bryant believes the personhood proposal or a similar proposal could resurface in the 2012 legislature.
In Tuesday's general election, voters rejected the state constitutional Amendment 58% to 42%. It defined life as beginning at fertilization, it sought to ban abortion and could have restricted birth control along with in vitro fertilization.
Lieutenant Governor Bryant made a statement saying the defeat of the amendment was a victory for Satan prior to being elected to the Governor's seat.
When asked if Satan had won, Bryant said a better effort could have been shown to present information on the Constitutional Amendment. He says the voters had spoken and that he has learned to listen to the people.
