PRENTISS, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The murder trial of Michael Bernard Henry, 41, is underway in Prentiss.

Tuesday morning's first witness was Jacory Fairley, 18, a next door neighbor of Edward Eugene Redd, 74, and his wife Cherilene Fuller Redd, 70, in Jefferson Davis County.

The high school senior testified, the Redd's daughter, Dianne, asked him to check on her parents.

Fairley said he knocked on the Redd's door but no one answered.

"...and then about 5 minutes I went back and checked on them and I just knocked," said Jacory Fairley. "In their house, they didn't have blinds, just curtains and then I saw through a crack and that's when I saw them."

What Fairley saw was the Redd's bodies on the floor.

They had been strangled to death.

Fairley says he called 9-1-1.

Michael Henry is charged with two counts of murder and one count of grand larceny in connection with the 2009 deaths.

The Redds' car was found burned-out in Jackson County.

The trial is expected to continue through Friday.
