Still Stormy Early - And Jack Frost Visits Again

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Spotty showers during the overnight period has made for plenty of puddles for the early morning commute, so we'll all need to slow down this morning. Temps will start off in the lower 60s with the winds continuing from the south. The full effect of the cold front won't be felt until later this evening. Highs in the mid 70s with the showers eventually tapering off.

Tonight clearing skies and high pressure becomes dominant once again. Combine that with a strong flow of air that will trend from the north, and we'll have a genuine blast of 'winter-time' air by Friday morning.

Colder air steps in by the start of the weekend with temps falling to near freezing Friday morning under clear skies. We are likely to have a bit of frost as well on Friday. Cloud  will build back in quickly for Saturday and with the moisture content in the atmosphere going up, it will start to feel warmer again. In addition to that, the temps will go back to the upper 70s - thus making it feel a bit, well, muggy next week!!!
