A big name food distributor gave away a large amount of chicken Wednesday morning.
Officials from Tyson Foods, Inc. distributed 30,000 pounds of chicken to the Mississippi Food Network. Dozens of boxes of various types of chicken were unloaded off of an eighteen wheeler, and into freezers at the Mississippi Food Network. 30,000 pounds of chicken will provide 120,000 servings of food.
Bud Odom from Tyson Foods, says, "we need to be as good stewards of large companies, we need to give back to the people who buy our products, who support us, but we also need to recognize those people who are very needy."
The Mississippi Food Network received the distribution after winning a Facebook challenge back in September.
