Suspected hit & run driver arrested

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police have captured a suspected hit and run driver, thanks to the assistance of a good samaritan.

Officers tell us the driver of a silver Jeep SUV hit a Toyota sedan at Silas Brown at State Street Wednesday afternoon.  Two people were hurt, but the SUV driver fled the scene.

A witness chased him in his own vehicle, then led police to Rio street, where officers made an arrest.

The two people hurt in the accident have been taken to the hospital.
