Police search for hit and run vehicle

The victim in Thursday night's fatal hit and run has been identified as 13-year-old Ray Echols. He was riding his bicycle with friends when he was hit by a red pickup truck, and the driver didn't stop.

Jackson Police spokesperson Colendula Green says Echols was riding southbound on Watkins Drive, near Beaverbrook, when he was hit. The accident happened just after 8:30.

Police continue to search for a red 1980s Chevy S-10 pickup truck. The license plate number is RD1-243. It's a Rankin County Tag.
