RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Madison County man accused of terrorizing drivers over the weekend in Ridgeland was in court Monday. Denarrio Lyndrell Reed faces 8 charges. The charges range from 2 counts of unarmed carjacking, car theft, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Reed was arrested Saturday night at the final crash site on Lake Harbor Drive near Wolcott Circle. Investigators say the 19 year-old crashed a stolen vehicle in a ditch, then approached a white Chevrolet Trailblazer and pulled out the driver. Police say Reed then headed west on Lake Harbor toward Highway 51, hitting several vehicles along the way and injuring at least one motorist.

Reed reportedly continued in the stolen s-u-v until he wrecked again at Wolcott Circle. Police say Reed got out and attempted to take two other vehicles but the drivers were able to get away. He ran toward Highway-51, where Ridgeland police officers took him into custody.
