Rankin Co. jailer arrested

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Pearl woman who worked as a jail guard is now an inmate in her place of employment.

Brandon Police arrested Catherine "Cat" Jones, 47, Friday at Home Depot where she was a part-time employee.

Jones was a full-time employee of the Rankin County Jail.

Assistant Brandon Police Chief Chris Butts tells 3 On Your Side, Jones is charged with four counts of felony embezzlement.

Butts would not disclose the type or amount of goods Jones allegedly embezzled from Home Depot.

Jones is being held on a $100,000 bond and Chief Butts says more arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
