Shoppers lining up for Black Friday

Posted: Updated:

The biggest shopping day of the year is right around the corner. Black Friday officially starts at midnight, and shoppers across the metro are gearing up to cash in on some deals.  This year the excitement has started early, many stores opening early, and shoppers camping out earlier.

Nearly twenty people were in line at the Flowood Best Buy by noon Thanksgiving day.  The first three in line, the Romano brothers, who arrived around 9 Wednesday evening.

Levi Romano says,"This is the first time to do black Friday so I think it's going to be a good experience, and save some money that's the thing, good deals, save money."

Those camping out say they plan to save hundreds on Christmas items they have no plans on giving away.

Romano says, "Were getting a $200.00 HD Sony TV, that ones usually about $500.00, so were really gonna save some money here."

Many retailers pushed up their Black Friday openings citing competition among themselves. Some consumers jockeying to spend big money are planning to hit more than one store in their shopping sprees.

Casey Pilgrim who is waiting with his wife said, "Hopefully there will be enough TVs for us to get one, oh yeah, it's definitely worth the wait."
