From One Weather Extreme To Another : STORMS & COLD!!!

Posted: Updated:

This morning's mild start will provide one of the crucial building blocks for this afternoon and evening's possible severe storms. Warm moist air is being ushered in from the south east early - making for a perfect blend of energy and moisture prior to a cold front pushing through. We have a 80% chance of rain this afternoon with a high of 74 degrees.

Tonight our chances of rain rise even high; believe it or not. 100% chance of shower expected for tonight as the cold front with an low pressure system moves across the Mississippi River. Widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected in the evening hours. Then at midnight the winds will shift after the front races through the area, changing a mild feeling outside to a cold one.

Sunday will be much colder. A combination of colder air from the front pushing through and blustery winds from the north west will take us quickly out of any comfort zone the previous few days have lulled us into. Look for a high in the mid 50s. And with the winds blowing at 15-25 mph, the cutting conditions will make it feel more like the 30s & 40s all day long. So be sure to bundle up on Sunday and all of next week!
