Winter Weather North, Just Cold Everywhere Else

Posted: Updated:

Wintry Weather Advisories to warnings are in full effect this morning for north east Mississippi. Residual precipitation is combining with much colder air creating a mix of light cold rain/drizzle and some snow flurries. Closer to home it's still colder but just combining with thick clouds. Expect a high of 51 degrees with clouds slowly clearing out. Winds NW 10-15 mph - and the wind chill factor staying below freezing most of the morning hours.

Tonight the temps will fall quickly into the 30s as the skies begin to clear out steadily after the sun goes down. We are likely to see temps fall to the upper 20s. Despite that drastic drop, We will not threaten to set any record lows (we'd have to get down to 19 for that).

Tomorrow sunshine all day long, highs will reach into the mid 50s. And the rest of the work week we'll enjoy the warming sunshine. By Saturday temps will climb into the mid 60s with scattered clouds. Sunday a front pushes through bringing more 'cold' rain and dropping temps into the 50s.
