City of Jackson prepares for freezing temperatures

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Public works crews in the Capital City are prepared for freezing temperatures forecasted for this week.

City crews have salt and sand trucks on standby to address any icy bridges or roadways.

Officials do not anticipate widespread water line breaks with this round of freezing weather; however, water crews are on standby to address any water line breaks should they occur.

 Residents may report any service request, including water line breaks, by calling 3-1-1 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Residents may also report broken water lines after hours and on the weekends by calling 601-960-1777 or 601-960-1875.
