Bicyclist tries to rob teenager in vehicle

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A teenager escaped an attempted armed robbery but he is in a local hospital as of Wednesday night.

Jackson police spokesperson, Officer Colendula Green told WLBT 18-year-old Me'Keyvin Cooper was shot in the shoulder.

Cooper told officers he was driving in the 100 block of Houston Avenue shortly after six when someone on a bicycle flagged him down. Green says when Cooper stopped, the person tried to rob him and the victim sped off.

The cyclist opened fired on Cooper's vehicle hitting him in the shoulder.
