Kuebler Trial To Go Into Next Week

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Testimony continued in the Charles Kuebler murder trial Friday.  Kuebler accused of shooting Tamara Stuckey in the head, in his apartment last summer.

Prosecutors called another witness who saw Tamara Stuckey shortly after she was fatally shot.  Jennifer Olivier testified Stuckey called her crying, saying Kuebler was being mean to her the night she was killed.   Later that evening Olivier says Kuebler was banging on her door, crying help, saying Tamara was shot when a gun fell on the floor.  Olivier also said Kuebler said "She's got a pulse, somebody help me."

A forensic expert from the Mississippi State Crime Lab testified the murder weapon was tested, and wouldn't fire without pulling the trigger.   Several tests were performed where the gun was dropped on the ground, but it didn't fire, according to witness Starks Hathcock.

Defense attorneys content Kuebler was trying to stop Stuckey from killing herself.  They also say he made no attempt to flee, and even tried to perform CPR on her.

There was also testimony on text messages Stuckey sent to a friend just before her death.  One read, wake up save me!   Other texts that would have implied drug use by Stuckey were not admitted by Judge Kidd.
