MOST WANTED: Mom-son team busted in Ridgeland

Posted: Updated:
RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A surprising twist to the latest MOST WANTED arrests.

This time Ridgeland Police tell us a mother son team paired up to steal Christmas.

We caught them on surveillance video in a Ridgeland department store.

Last Wednesday on MOST WANTED we featured that very video.

Ridgeland detectives wanted you to see the pair in action ripping off clothing.

Cops didn't know who they were, but a WLBT viewer did.

A tip to Crimestoppers paid off.

And Tonia Logan, 44, was busted.

She is accused of ripping off over $622 worth of polo shirts.

Even more shocking the mom tag teamed with her son to shoplift according to detectives.

November 6th Logan was accompanied by 29 year old John Logan, her own son.

He picked out Lacoste sweaters, hoodies and Polo shirts.

This mother son team is no stranger to crime.

Both are convicted felons from Jackson.

To top it off, at the time of these shoplifting incidents, both were on probation from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

So happy holidays everyone, the merchant is cheering their capture, the detectives are cheering the Crimestopper tipster.

But the grinches who allegedly stole their own Christmas presents are likely not celebrating the holidays at all.

Here's one more for you.

Ridgeland Police have cast a wide net for Jeremy Cortez Bennet.

He is wanted for auto burglary.

Bennet is 5'9 150 pounds with brown eyes, if you know where Jeremy Bennet is hiding out, don't hesitate to pick up the phone.

Call Crimestoppers and you just might be rewarded with a little Christmas cash.
