
Baptist Health Systems and Landmark Healthcare Facilities are partnering to provide more medical office space in Jackson.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon at the corner of N. State Street and Manship Street.
The new building will be five stories and about 180,000 square feet and is expected to cost $45 million dollars.
The mixed-use development will feature retail space on the ground floor with the other floors being leased to physicians.
Landmark Healthcare Facilities which is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will own and manage the building which is slated to open in the spring of 2013.
Baptist is funding a sky bridge to connect the new facility to the second floor of the existing Baptist Medical Center.
