Clouds clear out today

Posted: Updated:

Most of the area is still socked in with clouds this morning, but the clearing line is working its way southeast across the area. By this afternoon, I expect a good deal of sunshine!

Temperatures will warm into the middle and upper 50s today with northerly winds staying with us. These temperatures are near average for this time of year.

Skies will remain mainly clear tonight, allowing for temperatures to fall below freezing. Widespread frost can be expected Sunday morning.

Southerly winds return early next week. This will mean warmer temperatures and a return to clouds.

By Tuesday, a strong upper level system and surface cold front will push across the area. Rain and thunderstorms will move in, with a few severe storms possible. Right now it looks like we may not have enough instability over us to make for a widespread severe weather event, but please check back with us over the next day or two as new data comes in and we monitor how Tuesday's system evolves.

Have a great day!
