Christmas dinner preps at the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is preparing to serve dinner to 200 people for Christmas.

Salvation Army cooks are gearing up for the annual Christmas dinner. Pounds and pounds of traditional holiday food are stored in a large freezer. The Christmas dinner will be served on fine china along with a table covered with white linen cloth.

Salvation Army Captain Ken Chapman says, we're going to have turkey and all the fixings and ham and Christmas cookies and ice cream and all the Christmas plates and china. If you're in a homeless shelter on Christmas day it's gotta be a sad thing so we want to make people understand that somebody does care."

The Salvation Army's Christmas meal will be served on Christmas at noon. There's also a church service at 10:15 A.M.The service and dinner will take place at 110 Presto Lane in Jackson.
