Frost May Delay You Today.

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The start of the day is featuring a good deal of frost statewide; so plan of a slight delay because of defrosting your windows. We started off at freezing and below freezing in most areas, along with the dew point temps being close to the temps; making for perfect frost conditions.

Visibility also a challenge especially along the eastern side of the state. Mostly sunny during the day, high near 57, winds S 6-11 mph.

Tonight another chilly and clear weather pattern; so more frost may be likely to occur. Temps will fall into the mid 30s with the winds staying light. The rapid drop in temps will really kick in after the sun goes down. Winds will stay light and variable.

Thursday's sunshine will kick into overdrive in providing a much warmer day. Temps will soar quickly into the 60s, well above the norm for this time of the year. And we're not expecting 'any' clouds as high pressure stays in full control of our weather located along the gulf of Mexico. The position of the high pressure system will also help the winds to pick up from the south/ southwest. Thus, setting us up for a warming trend that will push temps into the 70s by the weekend.
