JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
This morning's weather featured an interesting 'inconsistent' pattern in the pre-dawn hours; primarily dealing with fog. Dense fog was reported in isolated areas around the state. But at some of the more 'official' sites, visibility stayed at 10 miles (totally clear). The chilly start in the 30s was quickly vanquished by the warming sunshine. Expect highs to reach the low to mid 60s, winds south 10-15mph.
Tonight we are likely to see a few clouds begin to pull into the area and winds staying a little more active. This is significant because the combination of the two, although very subtle, will make the difference between our temps staying away from the 30s and hover in the lower 40s. Winds will be from the south at 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow the unusual warming trend really kicks in; courtesy of a dominant high pressure system positioned to our south east. The abundant sunshine combined with the steady flow of warm air from the south will push temps to near 70 degrees. And we'll stay there for Saturday as well, if not warmer! Much cooler weather is expected next week with temps only climbing into the 40s for the highs, so enjoy the treat of warmer weather for now.
