Highs in the 60s this afternoon

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Morning aside, the afternoon is looking bright, mild and clear; high of 67 degrees. The winds are also cooperating, out of the south at 5-10 mph.

Tonight a few clouds may stream into the area; with a slight chance of fog particularly south of I-20. The consistent flow of southern air continues to keep in mild, but it also pushes the dew point temps closer to the actual temps. The combination makes for prime conditions for fog, temps staying in the 40s.

Saturday ends the year on yet another spring like day in the midst of the winter season. Imagine December being so warm that you could wear a short sleeved shirt. Well that's exactly how mild it will be on Saturday. At this time we're looking for a high of 71 degree; but it could get higher than that.

A cold front pushes through Sunday, giving us a 30% chance of showers with dramatic change on how it feels next week. Highs for Monday and Tuesday will be in the 40s and lows in the 20s. So BRACE YOURSELF for a  cold start (a really cold one!) for 2012.
