Another chilly start to the day began in the 20s with a touch of frost on the ground. However the clear skies open the door to thaw out rather quickly with few exceptions. Pike and Walthall counties were placed under Hard Freeze Warnings earlier this morning - likely to stay in effect till the mid morning hours. Highs expected to reach near 60 degrees, and winds SW 6-11.
Tonight a few more clouds will be in place to slow down the chilling effect of the overnight drop in temps. Partly cloudy skies will keep temps in the upper 30s, winds from the south. We're not expecting any more freeze advisories or warnings as warm air stays positioned over us for the rest of the work week.
Thursday's sunshine will push the temps into the lower 60s, winds SW 6-11mph. High pressure continues to open the door for plenty of sunshine, keeping the warm up active. And a chance of rain will hold off until the weekend.
