Two charged with child abuse in toddler's death

YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Yazoo County Sheriff's Department has arrested two people following the death of a toddler.

Authorities say the baby's mother, Courtney Ann Jones, and her boyfriend, Billy Joe Williams Jr., are charged with 2 counts each for felony child abuse.

Jones and Williams were not charged in the death of one-year-old Hunter Jones.

The baby's body was discovered unresponsive in a bed at their home Dec. 29.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death was inconclusive.
