One Arrested in Interstate Shootout

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A fight, car chase, and shoot out took place in the Capital City Wednesday evening.

Jackson Police tell us it started with a physical altercation at the Luxury Inn on Medgar Evers Boulevard. And, that gave way to a brief car chase where gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles.

J.P.D. stopped the two vehicles on the on ramp heading towards Interstate 20.

Johnathan Cottrell is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Our camera caught at least three other people who appeared to be taken into custody. No word on what, if any, charges they face or their identities.
