Reception held in honor of Capital City's new Sheriff

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It was a packed house at Fondren Hall Friday night.

Attire was semi-formal and it was practically standing room only.

Tyrone Lewis defeated 5-term Sheriff Malcolm McMillin to become Hinds County's first African American Sheriff.

Earlier this week, the 51-year-old former Jackson Police Chief named his command staff.
