JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The possibility of heavy rains in the afternoon will postpone the inaugural parade, but the actual inauguration ceremony will still proceed as planned Tuesday.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on the south steps of the capitol unless the weather deteriorates overnight.

The parade and events surrounding the parade will be postponed to January 21 beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The route begins at Amite and State streets and crosses downtown, following State, Capitol, West and Mississippi streets.

The master of ceremonies will continue to be Marshal Ramsey, cartoonist for the Clarion Ledger and radio host for Supertalk. More details will be available this week.

The inaugural ball will continue as scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to midnight at the Jackson Convention Center.
