Bryant Inauguration moved inside

Posted: Updated:

The Inauguration of governor-elect Phil Bryant is being moved indoors due to inclement weather.  Bryant's communications officials confirmed the move shortly after 8 a.m., Tuesday.

Now, instead of on the south steps of the State Capitol, Bryant will take the oath of office in the House of Representatives chamber inside the Capitol building. While the venue has changed the time will remain the same as the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

The rain and possible thunderstorms prompted the move, according to Bryant's director of communications, Mick Bullock.

"The safety of the people attending the ceremony is our primary concern and that is the main reason for the change in location," Bullock said.
