Miss Mississippi in Las Vegas for Miss America competition

Miss Mississippi, Mary Margaret Roark, is in Las Vegas, Nevada this week competing to become the next Miss America.

The first night of preliminary competition was held Tuesday night with Miss Mississippi competing in swimwear.

Wednesday night, she competed in talent and Thursday night Miss Mississippi will have her on-stage question.

Roark competed in an aqua swimsuit that pageant officials kept under wraps until the national competition.

She played piano in talent Wednesday night.

The new Miss America will be crowned Saturday night.
