Jury deciding fate of Ricky Franklin

A young Bolton man once considered a person of interest as a possible serial killer is back in the limelight.

A Hinds County jury is consideration the fate of Ricky Franklin from Bolton. He was charged with the rape, kidnapping and aggravated assault case of a young Jackson woman.

According to the victim, on or about November 7, 2009, she was approached in the Virden Addition area of Jackson by Franklin. Franklin picked her up and took her to a club , then his trailer on white Singleton Road in Bolton.

According to the District Attorney, Franklin held her against her will, beat the victim severely with a bottle and raped her.

He was under suspicion in the disappearance of several women who disappeared or were found dead in the Bolton area near his home.

Franklin was not charged due to a lack of evidence.
