Standoff suspect ID'd, but escapes

The man involved in a standoff with Madison County and state law enforcement officials since Thursday evening has escaped from a home on Davis Crossing Road, near Canton.

Shortly after 3:30 Friday morning, authorities in the area were told to "be on the lookout" for the man who got away. He has been identified as Rodney Wayne Hill, 57, and has a warrant out for his arrest due to an Aggravated Assault charge.

Law enforcement officials believe he is armed with a high-powered rifle, but do not have a description as to what he is wearing.
